Idea

I read today that there is a problem with eating a healthy raw vegan diet, too much energy. I can say for the most part YES I do agree.

My plans this year were to start traveling with the kids and explore the USA. For reasons that worked out the way they did my life is here in Las Vegas, NV or at least for the next 5 years. So all is well and after many moments of growth and awareness I felt a strong pull to follow my passion and start a business (cant travel, start business) (in addition my husband and I needed a tax write off).

What to do was the real dilemma???? What ever I do I must included my 2 young men 8 and 6. My passion is life and all is great when all the expert advise you to follow your passion and all will be well, money will come, etc. So I start to brain storm to myself: write a book, create a green energy cable show, be a midwife, write a screen play for The Red Tent (book and I am still going to do this)???
Still there were many flaws in these businesses. I decided to take a break from the what to do stuff and just read. As I re-read my favorite book, The Red Tent, I started to be inspired by the family business aspect of the history behind the book. Young men learned from their father and young girls learned from their mothers all about real life living and earning a living. There were colleges and schools back then but mostly people learned from their parents, math, reading, writing, knowledge came along depending on the need. If you did not like the family biz of bakery next door there carpenter or shoe maker was there for another trait to learn.

(I know this is getting long and yet important as to the process) As I am muling this all over I am sitting down with a great friend and being the auditory person I am I start to talk over my wanting of family biz and what are my passions and/or talents to create one. I come up with what I really love to do is prepare living foods, cook, be with my kids, communication and being with all people. I could start a raw food restaurant. I am great at food preparing, I have been doing it ever since I can remember, the boys could be apart of it, I love to serve others and I love being around people! As soon as I got home I started writing down the pros and cons [btw I have wanted to own a restaurant for the past 15 yrs, timing was off] and the list on the pro side just kept getting bigger and bigger, even the boys jumped on board and started deciding what they could do in the restaurant, how much money they could earn and get to eat lots of great foods.

I felt I wanted a business plan to check out the numbers and use it to gain funding. Would this be a profitable business??

So one call to the Nevada Small Business Center (all the help you need and free, I had been there 2 others times) and July 10th started me on my business quest to see IF a living foods cafe would be profitable.

Next: Orientation-fill in the numbers
